Weekend Round-Up 4 October 2026

Bev Borkowski

The teams have taken the opportunity this week to enjoy the newly refurbished clubhouse. Using it following training or post match.

Midweek Action

Walking Rugby

Great turnout for Thursday night where players from ages 8 to nearly 80 took to the field. All headed into the newly refurbished clubhouse to try on this season's new kit!

Sunday Action

U14s Training

U14s had a great training session this week as they prepare for next Sunday’s game. Each week the team build on their skills and fitness.

It was also the first UR7 Academy session of the season for the players invited to take part. They enjoyed a brilliant session working on edge attack and open play, and made a strong start to their academy season.

U13s v Bingham

U13s played their first game of the season against an excellent Bingham team at home.

It was a very close game played in a fantastic spirit that Corsairs edged out 9 tries to 7.

Player of the match performance on debut from Evan. And plenty of positives to take away for the whole team.

U12s v Sleaford

U12 had a great fixture against Sleaford at home. A real arm wrestle of a game where it was a long time before a score, but ended with three hard fought tries a piece.

Great spirit showed by both teams who enjoyed post match food in the clubhouse.

U11s Training

U11s spent the morning focusing on core skills; catch-pass, along with 2v1 and 3v2 decision making, before a conditioned inter squad match.

The team shared some chocolates afterwards to celebrate one of the boys birthday.

U10s Training

There was a good turnout for rugby training this morning which focused on building confidence and developing strong, effective tackling technique. This was to build on Thursday’s evening session and it was great to see the players working hard on their positioning, timing, communication and confidence in contact.

As the morning progressed, the team began to develop a clear and consistent approach to tackling that they will look to put into practice in their next match.

Training was rounded off with mini game between the team.

The boys then headed into the clubhouse to debrief over a well-earned hot chocolate, providing a great opportunity to have a laugh and talk about the progress they had made together.

U9s Training

U9s worked on their tackling and evasion techniques, there was maximum effort with great improvement shown by all the players.

Sweets were shared afterwards for a birthday.

U8s Training

We started by focusing on being prepared and ready for the game, with the players being ready for the whistle.

There was lots of focus on evasion and footwork, before moving onto the tackle/tag and building confidence in defence.

We’ve also welcomed three new players in recent weeks, adding some great strength and energy to the squad.

U7s Training

U7s worked on resetting their positions after a tag has been made. It was great to see so much progress in such a short space of time. Mainly down to the support from our parent helpers!

U6’s Training

The boys and girls enjoyed playing some rugby based games and activities. There was a lot of effort from everyone and plenty of giggles.

It was good to see the team enjoying their time on the field and making new friends.
